Once Upon a Time creators Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis will reunite with Frozen favorites Elizabeth Mitchell and Elizabeth Lail for their upcoming Freeform series Dead of Summer, EW has learned.

Set in the late ’80s, the series follows the counselors at Camp Clearwater, a seemingly idyllic Midwestern summer camp whose dark and ancient mythology awakens, turning a summer of fun into pure evil. Part coming-of-age story, part supernatural horror, Dead of Summer mixes genres to explore the light and dark side of summer camp.

Mitchell will play Deb, the new owner of Camp Clearwater, who was also a former camper herself. Deb has her heart set on bringing back the magic of the summer camp she loved. Deb exudes authority while also presenting a warm and welcoming vibe. Behind closed doors, however, Deb seems to value her control over the camp for a much darker reason.

Lail will play Amy, a clever, but nervous camp counselor, who is new to Camp Clearwater. Amy is not unfamiliar with being the new girl in social situations, and the pitfalls that come with it, so she tries hard to fit in with the already bonded counselors. As the others reminisce about their past summers at camp, Amy is the first to discover clues that something disturbing is going on at Camp Clearwater.

The series will reunite Mitchell and Lail with the OUAT team after starring in the ABC fairy tale drama’s Frozen arc during season 4 — Mitchell played the Snow Queen, while Lail portrayed Anna. Mitchell also previously worked on Lost with Horowitz and Kitsis.

The duo join the previously cast Zelda Williams, Mark Indelicato, Alberto Frezza, Eli Goree, Ronen Rubenstein and Paulina Singer.

Dead of Summer is slated to go into production in March.
