Hamilton: James Corden, Rosie O'Donnell rap opening number
Three-time Tony host Rosie O’Donnell stopped by The Late Late Show With James Corden to give the newly minted 2016 Tony host some important advice on how to not throw away his shot: “This year, you need to practice saying, ‘And the Tony goes to … Hamilton.’ “
O’Donnell, who claimed she’s seen the musical 12 times, joked that “it’s like going to church for me,” before rapping a few lyrics from “Satisfied” for the audience. After admitting he listens to the soundtrack every day in the car, Corden, a bonafide musical theater buff himself, joined her in rapping the opening number “Alexander Hamilton.”
