Josh Boone hits pause on The Stand, turns attention to another Stephen King adaptation
After directing The Fault in Our Starsin 2014, director Josh Boone has been a most wanted man in Hollywood. He’s been long attached to adapt and direct Stephen King’s The Stand (to say nothing of this X-Men spinoff), but that’s been temporarily halted as he’s somehow found time to adapt another King novel, 2014’s Revival.
The book tells the story of a charismatic small-town preacher whose supernatural experiments with electricity take a turn to the dark side after a tragic accident takes the life of his wife and child. Michael De Luca is on board as producer and according to Deadline, which first reported the news, the pair have submitted a spec script to Universal.
