Based on early buzz out of Cannes and the Toronto International Film Festival, Green Room, writer-director Jeremy Saulnier’s follow-up to the similarly lauded Blue Ruin, is absolutely one of the movies to watch out for in early 2016. The new R-rated trailer gives a good idea why.
Green Room is a horror movie with a hard-rock edge. Anton Yelchin and Alia Shawkat are two members in a heavy metal quartet that agree to a gig in the wrong bar. The local establishment is the HQ for a faction of neo-Nazis, lead by Patrick Stewart, which would be bad enough. When the band happens onto the scene of a murder, they’re locked up in the green room and forced to fight for survival .
