The Smashing Pumpkins have announced a 19-date spring tour that continues the band’s In Plainsong string of shows from June 2015. Billed as “an acoustic-electro evening,” each concert features “an evening of acoustic-based music and electronic soundscapes,” according to a press release. The tour begins March 22 in Portland, Ore., and wraps April 20 in Houston. Liz Phair will open the gigs.

Following last year’s In Plainsong dates, the Smashing Pumpkins embarked on a co-headlining summer tour with Marilyn Manson. Original Pumpkins drummer Jimmy Chamberlin, who rejoined the band for those concerts, will stay behind the kit for the group’s upcoming gigs.

“If all you hear is pop and all you see are perfect performances and everybody smiling, to actually see a band invoke a darker spirit on stage and conjure it right in front of you in a mass of power you can’t explain, that is quite rare to that audience,” Corgan told EW in 2015 when discussing Smashing Pumpkins concerts. “No band in the past 15 years has come along and figured out how to do that.”

The most recent Smashing Pumpkins album was 2014’s Monuments to an Elegy — but Corgan’s name also appeared in the credits for a song off Miguel’s 2015 album Wildheart.
