The centuries-long battle between the Assassins and Templars is hitting Apple devices later this February, with a new adventure in the Assassin’s Creed franchise that returns players to one of the franchise’s most beloved locales.
Ubisoft has revealed that Assassin’s Creed Identity will hit iOS platforms in the U.S. on Feb. 25. The game will allow players to customize their own assassin, choosing from four different classes, different outfits and weapons, and pushing them to rise through the tiers of the Assassin ranks.
The game will set players back to the Italian Renaissance, the time period and locale of the franchise’s Assassin’s Creed II-era games, a trilogy of which followed Assassin Ezio Auditore’s life.

Identity will retain the franchise’s core free-running movement and blend of stealth and direct combat, with the added role-playing mechanics, some of which have been present to some degree in previous AC games.
Assassin’s Creed Chronicles India and Russia are also releasing this year. No mainline AC game has been announced for this year yet, and recent rumors suggested Ubisoft may reportedly skip this year entirely in favor of releasing a new major installment next year. The Assassin’s Creed film, starring Michael Fassbender, is also set for release this year on Dec. 21. Check out a few images of the game in action below.
