Singer-songwriter John Legend has come aboard to produce 3 Mics, a New York-bound stage show from comedian and Chapelle’s Show co-creator Neal Brennan.

Brennan wrote and performs the solo show, which will mark his theatrical debut in the Big Apple. It is conceived in three parts, with the first tackling race, gender, and contemporary heroes and hypocrites. The second section is a collection of one-liners he’s crafted over the years, and the third explores his personal struggles, from relationships to depression.

Drew Barr is directing the show, with Mike Jackson and Ty Stiklorius producing alongside Legend.

3 Mics will play at the Lynn Redgrave Theater beginning Feb. 23, with the official opening scheduled for March 3.
