Whenever anyone asks me to recommend a great horror film they might not have seen, I always point them in the direction of The Battery, actor-writer-director Jeremy Gardner’s low-budget tale of two baseball-loving buddies and their adventure-filled perambulations through the zombie apocalypse.

Is Gardner’s new movie, Tex Montana Will Survive!, as good? We certainly hope so, given he became frostbitten during the film’s production while codirector Christian Stella’s health deteriorated to the point where he was coughing up blood. Hey, around here, we just call that “a case of the Mondays”! But I digress…

Today, Gardner, Stella, and producer Adam Cronheim have launched a Kickstarter campaign for Tex Montana Will Survive! The aim? To raise $50,000 so that they can release this already-completed satire of survivalist shows like Man vs Wild for free.

You can find out more about Tex Montana Will Survive! (and see Stella try, and fail, to assemble a tent) by visiting the film’s official Kickstarter page. You can also watch the movie’s new trailer, above.
