Jeffrey Dean Morgan's Negan role on Walking Dead: Why his mother was not pleased

When Jeffrey Dean Morgan was recently cast on The Walking Dead as the villainous Negan, it sent shivers through comic-book fans who have eagerly awaited the character’s televised arrival. One person who wasn’t as excited: Morgan’s mom.
“When I took the show, she was like, ‘What does this mean with The Good Wife?’ ” Morgan told Seth Meyers on Tuesday night. “She was devastated that this could be the end. I was like, ‘Mom, keep your pants on.’ ”

Morgan himself told Meyers he was excited for the new, different role.
“He’s a game-changer. It’s a complete 180 from what I’m doing on The Good Wife, which for an actor is a dream come true,” Morgan said. “I get to be the biggest ass in the world.”
