The GLAAD Media Awards honor television, film, and journalism that accurately, fairly, and inclusively represents the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender community.

The nominees, announced Wednesday, include such standouts as Oscar nominees Carol and The Danish Girl, as well as the overlooked Dope. Quite a few television series were honored, including Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Empire, Master of None, Orange Is the New Black, Transparent, Please Like Me, Orphan Black, Sense8, and many more critical and audience favorites. Reality series I Am Cait, I Am Jazz, and The Prancing Elites Project also got nods.

In the realm of music, Miley Cyrus, Adam Lambert, Brandi Carlile, Le1f, and Troye Sivan were each nominated for their latest albums.

The 27th annual GLAAD Media Awards ceremonies will be held in Los Angeles on April 2 at The Beverly Hilton and in New York City on May 14 at the Waldorf Astoria New York.
