Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens

That was no nameless stormtrooper you heard in Star Wars: The Force Awakens — you may have (correctly) heard director and actor Kevin Smith.

A new post on reveals Clerks director Smith can be heard giving voice to one of the stormtroopers in the film. Smith yells “We have incoming at 28.6! Move!” during the attack at Maz Kanata’s castle as one of the stormtroopers reacting to the sight of Resistance fighters. Smith is in good company, as sources confirmed to EW that Daniel Craig also gave voice to a stormtrooper (though 007 also apparently stepped into the suit as well), and the movie already included a list of other famous vocal and physical cameos.

A number of voice actors who have taken part in the animated side of the Star Wars universe, including Star Wars Rebels and Star Wars: The Clone Wars, provided voice work for The Force Awakens as well. James Arnold Taylor, Catherine Taber, David Accord, and Sam Witwer, who starred as Starkiller in the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed video game series (which eerily predicted a moment in The Force Awakens) were among those who voiced characters in the film.

Check out for the full list of actors that gave voice to the world surround Rey, Poe, and Finn — and to find out just exactly what was being said in the midst of the action.
