Kate Hudson’s character in Kung Fu Panda 3, Mei Mei, is a master in the art of ribbon-dancing. Where other characters stuff their faces with dumplings or practice mystical martial arts, Mei Mei wows everyone with her unmatched musical ability. When the real-life Hudson appeared on The Tonight Show Monday night, she and host Jimmy Fallon also went a musical route for their game: Fallon inaugurated Hudson into the mysteries of Dubsmash.

In the age of Adele carpool karaoke, Hudson’s first Dubsmash assignment was lip-syncing to “Hello,” which she mimed as admirably as Adele did Nicki Minaj’s “Monster” verse. Hudson and Fallon were supposed to guess each other’s songs, but kept outsmarting each other. The game concluded with a rousing rendition of the one-hit wonder to end all one-hit wonders, Baha Men’s “Who Let the Dogs Out.”
