Chris Pine: Wonder Woman could make the universe 'less aggressive'
The 'Wonder Woman' costar praises his new film... but has never heard of the title character's Invisible Plane?
With Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice just a couple of months away, and teasers starting to leak for upcoming Wonder Woman and Justice League movies, it finally seems like DC is building up a universe of movie adaptations to rival the Marvel Studios juggernaut. Based on the trailers, many of these cinematic versions appear to do away with the more colorful aspects of DC Comics in favor of gritty darkness. Case in point: Chris Pine is playing Steve Trevor in Wonder Woman, and he’s never even heard of the superhero’s iconic Invisible Plane.
“I can’t talk about specifics, but there’s all sorts of fun stuff,” Pine said, though Kimmel had to explain the very concept of the Invisible Plane to him.
Invisible Plane or not, Pine is clearly psyched to be a part of Wonder Woman. Already a veteran of franchise blockbusters like Star Trek, Pine told Kimmel why he thinks Wonder Woman is unique.

“What I think is neat about it is with all the Thors and Captain Kirks, with men at the helm it’s always a revenge cycle thing — we’re gonna go get the bad guys and the bad guys are defeated,” Pine said. “What I think is really lovely having a woman at the helm of something like this is there’s a great deal more compassion and love at the center of the story, which for something as big a film as this is going be, it’s wonderful the little bit we can do to hopefully inch this universe towards something less aggressive.”
