  • Uma Thurman and Alexandra Daddario are heading to Marjane Satrapi‘s newest venture. The Persepolis filmmaker is helming The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir, already fronted by Bollywood star Dhanush. The movie will track a grand storyteller on his worldwide journeys, from India to France, falling in love and accidentally getting deported. The adaptation of Romain Puértola‘s 2014 novel — The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir Who Got Trapped in an Ikea Wardrobe — also stars Barkhad Abdi (Captain Phillips) and Laurent Lafitte (Little White Lies). Filming begins this summer in Paris, Rome, Jodhpur, and Casablanca. [Variety]
  • Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Concussion) is in talks to join Miss Sloane. The gun control drama’s ever-growing cast features Jessica Chastain, Alison Pill, and Michael Stuhlbarg. Jonathan Perera‘s script details the titular political fixer (Chastain) who takes on the gun lobby. Mbatha-Raw will play a gun-control lobbyist. John Madden (The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel) directs.
