Sony Pictures Classics has acquired worldwide rights to the Wall Street drama Equity ahead of its debut at the Sundance Film Festival.
Directed by Meera Menon (Farah Goes Bang), the film stars Breaking Bad‘s Anna Gunn as a senior investment banker who becomes entangled in a controversial tech IPO. The cast also includes Alysia Reiner, James Purefoy, and Sarah Megan Thomas.
Amy Fox wrote the script.
Equity is the second Sundance deal this year for Sony Classics, which also picked up the documentary Eat That Question: Frank Zappa in His Own Words.
