Star Trek: Mission New York will celebrate everything going on in the Star Trek universe, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to bring it back to the birthplace of the original Star Trek convention and do so with a partner like ReedPOP,” CBS Consumer Products’ executive vice president and general manager Liz Kalodner said in a statement.

The first-ever Star Trek convention was held in New York in 1972 at what is now the Hotel Pennsylvania. The return to New York will offer fans a chance to honor the long television and film history of the series, which will see a new film released in 2016, Star Trek Beyond, along with other commemorations for the anniversary.
