Ahead of the Friday release of his debut album, Charlie Puth shared new single “We Don’t Talk Anymore” featuring Selena Gomez. The 24-year-old singer laments his crumbling communication with the pop star over wistful, syncopated pop beats and admits, “Don’t want to know what dress you’re wearing tonight if he’s holding onto you so tight, the way I did before.”

Gomez, on the other hand, has better wishes for her paramour. “I just hope you’re lying next to somebody who knows how to love you like me,” she sings on the track.

Puth gave fans a heads up about the duet when he posted a snippet of the song on Instagram last month. The New Jersey native told Access Hollywood he’d played “We Don’t Talk Anymore” for pal Gomez upon its inception and when he completed the track, she wanted in.

“She started singing under her breath the second verse,” Puth said on the program. “I didn’t want to impose the song on her but she wanted to sing on it.”
