Steven Tyler crashes CNN blizzard broadcast, prescribes lots of hot chocolate
Winter storm Jonas swept up and down the East Coast on Saturday, leaving New York City buried under two feet of snow. While the streets were temporarily closed to vehicles, a number of New Yorkers ventured outside on foot — including Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler, who wandered past a live CNN broadcast and stopped by to offer his advice to viewers at home.
Together with his daughter Mia Tyler, he told CNN’s Poppy Harlow that he’s stranded in New York for the time being, after an earlier appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to promote his new song “Red, White & You” and raise awareness for his charity, Janie’s Fund. “I’m going to hunker down,” Tyler told Harlow. “I’ve got a funny feeling the storm is going to keep us here a couple extra days.”
After giving an on-air shoutout to his grandson Milo (Liv Tyler’s son), as any good grandfather would, he also dispensed his own advice to New Yorkers affected by the blizzard.
“Stay home,” Tyler said. “Two words: hot chocolate.”
