In the new film Trash Fire, Entourage star Adrian Grenier plays Owen, a man who is forced to confront the past he’s been running from his whole adult life, as he and his girlfriend, Isabel (Angela Trimbur), become entangled in a web of lies, deceit, and murder.

“I cast Adrian because the first independent film I ever saw when I was a kid back home in Virginia was (1998’s) The Adventures of Sebastian Cole, and I loved him in it,” said writer-director Richard Bates Jr. (Excision), in a statement. “People seemed to forget all the great work he did in independent films in the ’90’s. He’s an underrated actor and I thought it’d be fun to re-introduce him back into that independent world as something entirely different from his more recent roles.”

Trash Fire costars Fionnula Flanagan, AnnaLynne McCord, and Matthew Gray Gubler. The film debuts at the Sundance Film Festival on Jan. 23. You can see an exclusive scene from Trash Fire, above.
