Zac Efron has his priorities back in order.

A day after raising eyebrows with a tweet that conflated his social-media success with the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr., the actor issued a plainspoken mea culpa.

“I have nothing but the greatest admiration and respect for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.,” Efron wrote in an Instagram post Tuesday. “I realize that last night’s post was completely insensitive and I apologize to anyone who I may have offended. So sorry.”

On Monday, this year’s Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, Efron had tweeted, “I’m grateful for a couple things today: Martin Luther King Jr & 10 million followers on [Instagram].” The tweet has since been deleted.
