The Winchesters have faced demons, gods, angels, bugs, Leviathans, the apocalypse, and just about anything else you can think of during Supernatural‘s 11 seasons. But when the show returns for the back half of its eleventh season, they don’t just have Lucifer to deal with: They also have to defeat the Darkness, also known as a being with the power of God.

In a new midseason trailer, fans get a glimpse of the drama that will come about as a result of that fight, which involves a first look at the upcoming WWII episode, a really confusing moment between Castiel and Rowena, and Castiel revealing that the words “I Am Coming” have been burned into his chest. IS IT A MESSAGE FROM GOD?

Supernatural returns Wednesday, Jan. 20 at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
