Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens

The starting point for the film was a single idea: a young girl who discovers she may be a Jedi.

That was just one of the revelations in my post-screening conversation with the creators of Star Wars: The Force Awakens — and now you can listen to all of them as we present a special EW podcast with J.J. Abrams and screenwriters Lawrence Kasdan and Michael Arndt.

Episode VII has been in theaters for a month now, breaking box office records nearly every step of the way, so all spoilers are fair game.

The hidden cameos of Yoda and Obi-Wan… The reasons behind Kylo Ren’s cruelest cut… and the creation of Rey herself are among the burning questions answered by the trio.

You can hear more stories from the storytellers on Behind the Scenes on Sirius XM, Channel 105, airing every Wednesday at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT.
