Looking for a sign that you should leave the car in the ol’ garage this weekend? Then look no further than the new trailer for Southbound, horror anthology movie opening in theaters, Feb. 5, and will be available to watch on VOD and via iTunes, Feb. 9.

Made by some of folks responsible for the V/H/S franchise, the film’s interlocked terror tales are set around a stretch of desert highway and rarely end well for anyone involved.

“It came together through wanting to work with these guys again, and all of us being drawn to this idea of the desolation of the open road, and long road trips leading to intense self-examination and reflectiveness,” Southbound producer and codirector Roxanne Benjamin recently told Entertainment Weekly. “Basically, it’s an emotional existential crisis horror movie.”

You can get a sense of the movie’s hell-ish nature by watching the new trailer, above.
