Sean Penn is going to break his silence on his ultra-controversial El Chapo interview to Charlie Rose.

The CBS This Morning anchor revealed to reporters at the Television Critics Association’s press tour in Pasadena on Tuesday that he’s getting the coveted sit-down with the actor, whose not-so-secret chat with the fugitive drug lord caused some outrage among law enforcement officials — yet also led to the kingpin’s capture.

Aside from a brief email exchange with the Associated Press, the actor has avoided the media since news broke over the weekend about his meeting with Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, who was recaptured by Mexican authorities on Friday.

“He and I will have a chance to explore a whole range of things about this particular interview and how this came about,” Rose told reporters. “We’ll be able to sit down, I have 1,000 questions for Sean, and for all the other people involved in this thing. It’s a remarkable story.”

Rose said the two met Monday night, but there is no date yet set for the interview or the broadcast.
