The WWE has announced that Sting will be the latest wrestler admitted into the WWE Hall of Fame, ahead of this year’s WrestleMania 32.

Sting, who made his first appearance inside a WWE ring at 2014’s Survivor Series, will be honored at a ceremony on April 2 in Dallas as part of a week of WrestleMania events. String was previously best known as one of the most prominent fighters in the WCW, securing a host of championship titles, including the WCW World Heavyweight Championship, the United States Championship, and the WCW Tag Team Championship multiple times.

After the WWE (then the WWF) purchased the WCW, Sting made various appearances in the Total Nonstop Action Wrestling promotion. He made his WrestleMania debut at last year’s event in a match against Triple H, who was the target of his first-ever attack in a WWE ring in 2014.

“His contributions to our industry are unprecedented, and we look forward to celebrating his incredible career with fans all over the world,” WWE’s Paul Levesque said in a statement accompanying the announcement.

WrestleMania 32 will take place the next day following the induction ceremony, on April 3 in Dallas, Texas.
