Lady Gaga winning a Golden Globe wasn’t the only news she made at the ceremony. The singer and American Horror Story: Hotel star revealed some information on her new album: It’s coming in 2016.

“You know, I am putting out an album this year. I won’t tell you when!” Gaga told reporters backstage. Her untitled fifth studio album will be her first since the Tony Bennett collab Cheek to Cheek in September 2014, and her first original record since 2013’s Artpop.

As for her aesthetic, Gaga was asked if her new music would reflect her recent change in style, which has changed rather drastically over the past few years.

“That’s a difficult thing to say as I don’t know that you yet know what I will look like for my next album, as I’m still creating all of those things. It’s something that is a gradual change always with me,” she said. “What was nice about playing The Countess is it reminded me that in my own life and in my music, I’m always — at times — playing a character, and I become them fully. And living inside of her was liberating, I’ll tell you, because she doesn’t give a sh– about anything.”

Gaga’s AHS role was the first star turn for the 29-year-old, despite attending acting school while growing up for nearly a decade. Her trophy was the only Globe AHS pulled in Sunday night.Lady Gaga’s Fan Distribution by Country | PrettyFamous
