Every actor has to pay the bills — even actors in billion-dollar blockbusters. (Just ask Mark Ruffalo.) Years before he became one of the new heroes of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, John Boyega did some modeling to put some money in his pocket. A University of Nebraska student recently spotted the now-famous face in photos around campus, and Chris Schmidt, the photographer behind the image, confirmed he worked with Boyega on an education themed shoot.

“A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away… I did an education themed stock photo shoot with a bunch of teenage students,” Schmidt wrote on Facebook Dec. 28, “it turns out John Boyega did quite well afterwards. The force is strong with this one…”

Once news of Boyega’s teenage job got out, the actor confirmed on Twitter he “used the money for new trainers,” which lasted about three years.

With The Force Awakens recently passing Avatar to become the biggest movie of all time, Boyega isn’t likely to show up on the set of stock image photo shoots again.
