TBS greenlights Conan O'Brien alien abduction support group comedy
Ever been abducted by aliens? TBS has just the comedy for you!
The network has given the greenlight to People of Earth, a comedy about a support group for alien abductees from Conan O’Brien and The Office‘s Greg Daniels.
People of Earth follows skeptical journalist Ozzie Graham (Wyatt Cenac), who investigates a support group, run by part-time therapist Gina Morrison (Ana Gasteyer), to write about their supposed alien encounters. But the more he digs into their claims, the more he realizes that not only could they be telling the truth, but he may have been abducted by aliens himself.
The comedy was written and created by David Jenkens, who will co-executive produce alongside O’Brien, Daniels, Jeff Ross, David Kissinger and Larry Sullivan.

“Having Greg Daniels executive-produce and direct a project for us at such an early stage in the network’s evolution is huge. His keen ability to assemble a brilliant ensemble cast has obviously worked well in the past,” said Brett Weitz, EVP of original programming for TBS. “Since the launch of Conan, which has been a brand beacon for TBS for more than five years, we’ve been searching for just the right sophisticated and funny scripted comedy series to develop with our partners at Conaco. I believe we found that in this wonderfully original script by David Jenkins.”
The series also stars Oscar Nuñez, Michael Cassidy, Alice Wetterlund, Luka Jones, Brian Huskey, Nancy Lenehan, Tracee Chimo, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Björn Gustafsson and Ken Hall.
A premiere date for the 10-episode first season of People of Earth has not yet been set.
