Kate McKinnon and Kumail Nanjiani will host the Independent Spirit Awards, the annual ceremony that recognizes artistic achievement in independent film. This year’s show is scheduled to air Feb. 27 on IFC.

McKinnon is famous from her work on Saturday Night Live, and is part of the all-girl squad in the forthcoming Ghostbusters. Nanjiani, a Pakistani-American podcast host and comedian, is best known for his work as Dinesh on the HBO series, Silicon Valley. Together, the two take over for last year’s hosts Kristen Bell and Fred Armison, in a ceremony that’s set to take place in Santa Monica, Calif.

This year’s nominees for Best Female Lead include Bel Powley (The Diary of a Teenage Girl), Brie Larson (Room), Cate Blanchett (Carol), Kitana Kiki Rodriguez (Tangerine), and Rooney Mara (Carol), while Best Male Lead nominees include Abraham Attah (Beasts of No Nation), Ben Mendelsohn (Mississippi Grind), Christopher Abbot (James White), Jason Segal (The End of the Tour), and Koudous Seihon (Mediterranea).

Films in contention for the ceremony’s Best Film prize include Beasts of No Nation, Carol, Anomalisa, Spotlight, and Tangerine. Past winners of the ceremony’s top honor for film include Birdman in 2015, 12 Years a Slave in 2014 and Silver Linings Playbook in 2013.
