King Louie looks much more serious than we remember.

In part 1 of the new triptych poster from Jon Favreau’s The Jungle Book, King Louie (voiced by Christopher Walken) somberly overlooks the jungle, while Kaa (voiced by Scarlett Johansson) coils down from an overhanging branch. That’s quite a departure from the rowdy orangutan who loved jazz music and living lavishly as the King of the Apes in Disney’s 1967 animated version.

Favreau shared the poster on Twitter Tuesday, and Fandango has a look at part 2 of the image (they’ll also debut part 3 on Thursday), featuring Shere Khan on the prowl. Idris Elba will voice the fierce tiger, and Lupita Nyong’o, Bill Murray, and Ben Kingsley also lend their voices to various members of the animal kingdom. Neel Sethi plays Mowgli, the only live-action character among the cast.
