You can listen to The Beatles on Spotify now, but Christina Aguilera brought John Lennon to life with a performance of “Mother.”

The pop star stopped by Linda Perry’s celebration for her song “Hands of Love,” featured in the movie Freeheld, and put her classic X-tina touch on the 1970 ballad, belting Lennon’s deep cut about his parents with signature soul.

After she finishes up, Aguilera thanks Perry, who went on to perform three Led Zeppelin songs.

While Cyrus was not in attendance Tuesday to pay homage to the night’s honoree, Courtney Love also appeared and performed a cover of Radiohead’s “Creep.”
