There seems to be a new Beyoncé-related rumor every week and the latest involves the superstar penning and starring in a movie about Saartjie Baartman. It’s not true: Beyoncé’s rep has denied that the singer will portray Baartman, the South American woman who was exploited and exhibited during the 19th century because of her anatomy.

“Beyoncé is not connected to the project,” her rep told EW. “This is an important story that should be told, however.”

Baartman died at age 26. Her remains were returned to South Africa in 2002, where she was buried on Aug. 9 of that year, during the public holiday Women’s Day.

Beyoncé has previously appeared in Dreamgirls, The Pink Panther, and Cadillac Records, in which she portrayed Etta James.
