The Martian honest trailer reminds us how often Matt Damon needs rescuing
Have you ever noticed how often Matt Damon’s characters need rescuing? The new honest trailer for The Martian definitely has.
The latest installment of Screen Junkies’ tongue-in-cheek video series notes that Damon has been delivered from World War II (Saving Private Ryan), the Gulf War (Courage Under Fire), the Middle East (Syriana, Green Zone), space (Interstellar, Elysium, Titan A.E.), and even a “terrible Boston childhood” (Good Will Hunting).
Now we can add another tally to the list thanks to The Martian, Ridley Scott’s sci-fi adventure starring Damon as a “pottymouthed astronaut” stranded on the Red Planet.
Watch the video above as it humorously deconstructs the film, making the case that Damon’s character spends way too much time Periscoping, and that he has nothing on Tom Hanks in Cast Away: “All [he] needed was a volleyball and an ice skate.”
