New host, new… genre?

Like Jon Stewart before him, Trevor Noah is getting his own version of the Daily Show theme song, “Dog on Fire,” which will make its debut on tonight’s show. And this time, viewers might hear something a little different than the guitar-heavy banger they’re used to.

The Daily Show stayed in the rock realm when it rejiggered the song after Stewart took over from Craig Kilborn back in 1999; alt-rockers They Might Be Giants re-recorded Bob Mould’s original verison. This time, it’s in the hands of hip-hop and R&B heavyweight Timbaland and King Logan, mixed by Justin Timberlake collaborator Chris Godbey.

Maybe “Dog on Fire” with a little bit of “What Goes Around”?
