Taylor Swift and Coldplay rang in the new year with music video releases, Lena Dunham partied her way into 2016, and Carrie Underwood headlined New Year’s Rockin’ Eve. Nina Dobrev, on the other hand, went to “the top of the world.”
“When I said jumping into 2016…I meant it LITERALLY,” the former Vampire Diaries star wrote in an Instagram post featuring video of her skydiving excursion. “Sending love and positivity from the top of the world,” she continued.

Dobrev left The CW’s Vampire Diaries after the season 6 finale. Executive producer Caroline Dries told EW of her final scene, “Rarely does it happen where the last line of dialogue you say is the last line of the episode, so for the last thing for us to shoot in season 6 to be Elena’s last scene was very strange how it came together perfectly.”
