2016 Oscars: Chris Rock promo airs on New Year's Eve
Want a taste of Chris Rock‘s upcoming hosting turn at the 2016 Oscars? The comedian brought the funny in the first promo for Hollywood’s big night that aired on New Year’s Eve.
“Much like New Year’s Eve, it’ll be a night that ends with a lot of drunk, disappointed people swearing they’ll do better next year,” joked Rock, who follows last year’s host Neil Patrick Harris. The Top Five star also took to Twitter to promote the promo. “There will always be 3 constants,” he wrote. “Death, taxes and the Oscars. Hope all 3 don’t happen to me this year.”
In December, the Academy revealed a behind-the-scenes look at Rock’s Oscars promo shoot. The prompter read, “When they asked me to host the Oscars, I told them that I’d only do it if Jimmy Kimmel hosts a live special after the Oscars.”
The 2016 Oscar nominations will be announced on Jan. 14, before the ceremony airs on Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. ET on ABC.
