If the thought of ringing in 2016 without Harry, Ron, and Hermione at the front of your mind is giving you heartburn, fear not. The brilliant minds behind “Unofficial Quidditch Pong” have found a way for you to combine your Harry Potter fandom with your ceaseless fondness for beer pong. Combining Quidditch Pong’s three Quidditch rings, two Beater’s bats, and a Golden Snitch with your own 20 cups, one Snitch cup, and three ping pong balls, you and five friends can bring your favorite broomstick-riding sport into your home.

It’s essentially like beer pong, except that designated Beaters can block shots — if the shot was made through one of the rings. Both teams have a Seeker who can shoot for the Snitch cup (essentially the “Island” cup in normal beer pong). Oh, and there are alsospells: Each Hogwarts House (i.e. your team) has three different spells available for use during the game. Gryffindor’s Invisibility Cloak, for example, involves trying to cover as many cup tops with your hands as you can while your opponent shoots. The rest of the rules can be found here, and while Unofficial Quidditch Pong sets are sold out for now, we’re sure you can find a spell (or a crafty friend) to finagle your own.
