Former Black Flag frontman Henry Rollins went on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert Wednesday night and joined the host in matching red Christmas sweaters. “A Very Rollins Christmas,” as Colbert dubbed it, began with an initially soothing, traditional cover of “Carol of the Bells.”

But then Rollins entered and fired up Jon Batiste and Stay Human, throwing distortion and guitars on the track to turn it into a schizophrenic punk track.

The best part? Colbert continued with his meek singing as Rollins exhausted all the air in his lungs to belt the lyrics.
