Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens

In The Force Awakens, Poe Dameron’s weapon of choice is an X-Wing fighter, but actor Oscar Isaac knows his way around a lightsaber, too. Or, at least, he knows the weak spot to strike in any laser sword fight.

Right in the crotch.

That’s just one revelation from a playful and insightful new video interview with the Star Wars actor, conducted by his own younger brother, Mike Hernandez, a journalist with Miami New Times.

The two Hernandez boys met at a Star Wars bar in Miami to talk about their lives growing up, the changes in the neighborhood, and the difference between a character having a “theme” and a “theme song.”

They also examine the various action figures and illustrations of Poe Dameron. It’ s a pretty combative interview, right up until they settle their differences with Street Fighter, and Hernandez’s accompanying essay dives even further into their lives growing up in hurricane country.

That lightsaber crotch maneuver? They don’t teach that at Jedi Academy.

Only a big brother from the Dark Side can pull such a vicious move.
