If there are fans of the comic book character Deadpool still concerned that the upcoming Hollywood movie version of their ribald, red-masked superhero will be sanitized for general audiences — well, get a load of this.

The new poster for Deadpool speaks for itself. Or, rather, you could say, speaks softly and carries a big stick. Ryan Reynolds stars in the upcoming film as the mercenary Wade Wilson, who undergoes a treatment to cure cancer and is transformed into the superhuman, wisecracking, fourth-wall-smashing Deadpool. And as witnessed in the red-band trailer, which generated rapturous, thunderous buzz when it premiered at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, and the internattional poster that debuted earlier this month, he’s quite a bit more boastful of his own libido than anyone we’ve seen from the Marvel universe onscreen before.

“The movie focuses on Wade’s relationship with Vanessa and it’s actually a great love story,” director Tim Miller tells EW, referring to Reynolds’ love interest, played by Morena Baccarin (Homeland, Gotham). “But we don’t punt the issue of his sexual urges. It’s in the comic and it’s in our film.”

Deadpool opens nationwide on Feb. 12 — just in time for Valentine’s Day. Check out the exclusive debut of the film’s new poster below.
