Adele made a personal dream come true during Sunday’s X Factor finale, performing “Hello” on her first ever stop by the British show.

“I’ve honestly been waiting like half my life to do this,” Adele in an interview with Olly Murs after the show. “I’m so excited to be here.”

She got a taste of what it’s like to sing on a reality show, and admitted to feeling nervous after giving an outstanding performance. “I could never do that again, I don’t think. I couldn’t even look them in the eye,” Adele said of the judges.

Former X Factor contestants One Direction also performed during the finale, singing “History” and “Infinity” from their chart-topping new album Made in the A.M. Future Super Bowl halftime performers Coldplay appeared as well to sing “Adventure of a Lifetime” from Head Full of Dreams.

Adele fans can catch her on another televised program Monday night, when her NBC special, a recording of her recent Radio City Music Hall concert, premieres at 8 p.m. ET.
