Get ready: The first trailer for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will apparate Dec. 15.

Warner Bros. announced the debut date with a brief, text-only teaser. See it above.

Spun off from the Harry Potter films and written for the screen by J.K. Rowling (making her screenwriting debut), Fantastic Beasts stars Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, an eccentric British “magizoologist” who travels to New York and discovers that the American wizarding community faces the threat of public exposure.

Veteran Harry Potter director David Yates is helming, with a supporting cast including Katherine Waterston, Colin Farrell, and Samantha Morton.

Fantastic Beasts won’t hit theaters till next fall, but in the meantime you can catch up on all EW’s coverage.
