The Weeknd has unveiled a dark, ’80s-drenched video for the equally dark, ’80s-drenched “In the Night,” the Beauty Behind the Madness track — about a stripper with a deeply troubled past — that is perhaps the album’s biggest nod to Michael Jackson.

Directed by BRTHR and featuring Abel Tesfaye’s supermodel girlfriend Bella Hadid, the clip plays out like a classic grindhouse flick, only it’s chopped up with a bloody knife and laced with something very potent.

Beauty Behind the Madness is up for the coveted Album of the Year award at the 2016 Grammys, while its lead single “Can’t Feel My Face,” is up for Record of the Year. You can read EW’s review of the album, the Weeknd’s second studio album, here.
