Doctor Strange (2016 Movie)

Doctor Strange is untested ground for Marvel Studios for a number of reasons. The film, which is due out on Nov. 4, 2016, will feature a character unfamiliar to most audience members and will enter literally some new dimensions for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

A new preview of the film, which stars Benedict Cumberbatch as the vain surgeon-turned-Sorcerer Supreme, has debuted as a part of Marvel Studios’ Phase 2 box set on a featurette about the upcoming Phase 3.

“What you can expect from this Doctor Strange movie is a mind-trip action film,” says director Scott Derrickson.

But in addition to that nice little soundbite, you also get executive producer Stephen Broussard talking about how the film will need to keep one foot in the established universe while exploring the full visual potential of a Doctor Strange movie can be.

In short, they want to make it weird, but not too weird. You can watch the featurette clip above.
