If Ed Sheeran offered $2 private shows, you would think that people would be camped out for days to see him perform. But when he tried it last week, hardly anyone showed up.

The Australian comedy duo Hamish and Andy set up a $2 peep show experiment in which the singer-songwriter would give a 30-second performance in the flesh (but fully clothed). Unfortunately, the nondescript exterior plus Hamish’s sketchy disguise kept passerby away. After all, it’s a little hard to believe that the guy who played three sold-out shows at Wembley Stadium this summer would be playing a peep show on a random street in Melbourne in the middle of the day.

Sheeran sat on a stool with his guitar for more than two hours before a couple finally came in to see what was actually behind the curtain. Watch the video above to see the reactions.
