One of the Xbox 360’s best games — and one of EW’s favorites from the console — is making its way to the current geenration of platforms. And PC players can download it right now for free.
Revealed during The Game Awards, Shadow Complex Remastered is now available for download from Epic Games’ website for PC for free through the end of the year. The game will also come to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2016, though no specific release date has been revealed.
Originally developed by Chair Entertainment, Shadow Complex debuted as an Xbox Live Arcade game on the Xbox 360 in 2009. The game played in the style of classic sidescrolling games like Super Metroid and Castlevania, letting players explore a giant underground complex, acquiring weapons and upgrades to explore new aspects of the game’s world. The remastered version promises new achievements, challenges, and better graphics.
Though fans have often requested it, no sequel was ever made for the game. The remaster certainly suggests Chair is interested in keeping the franchise alive in some capacity, however. The studio is currently working on a new game called Spyjinx in association with J.J. Abrams and Bad Robot.
