Björk’s new music video for “Mouth Mantra” may not be for the squeamish since it was filmed from inside her mouth.

The video consists of warped shots of her tongue, teeth, and gums, followed by Björk performing some frenzied dance moves, and was directed by Jesse Kanda who has also produced body-morphing projects for artists like Arca and FKA twigs.

Björk premiered the video on Dazed and wrote of the experience creating it:

“i am so extremely grateful to jesse to be up for going on this journey …. it was brave of him to take it on and i feel spoiled having witnessed him grow , making hi tech mouth models and inventing cameras all to match a little therapeutic song about the throat,” she said. “his dedication and devotion is overwhelming !!! i am especially grateful for those sassy dancefloor moments we managed to squeeze in there aswell : true magic !!”

“Mouth Mantra” is the latest song from the Icelandic singer’s album Vulnicura to get a trippy video. Her first, “Black Lake,” was a 10-minute film that debuted at her MoMA installation in March. Björk followed it up with a 360-degree experience for “Stonemilker,” and a mesmerizing video for “Lionsong.”
