Our eyes — they’re wet! It’s because we’re weeping happy tears of sweet nostalgia: EW has confirmed with the Disney Channel that Tyra Banks will reprise her role from Life-Size in a planned sequel, should the project go forward.
Life-Size, which premiered on Disney Channel in 2000, is about a young girl (Lindsay Lohan) who accidentally brings her (anatomically correct!) fashion doll, Eve, to life. Eve’s positive outlook and sunshiny spirit change the girl’s life forever — but (spoiler alert!) she returns to doll form so that she can use her newfound understanding of the world to help all the other extremely dated Eve dolls speak to the young girls of 2000.
Rumors have circulated about a Life-Size sequel since 2012, and Banks confirmed that the follow-up was in the works in early 2014. In addition to starring as Eve, Banks is also attached to executive produce. The project is currently in development and in consideration for a Disney Channel Original Movie; it has not yet been greenlit and has no targeted premiere date at present.
Variety first reported the news that Banks is slated to shine bright, shine far as Eve once again. “There is no one else that can play Eve but me, thank you very much!” the model told the magazine.
