Babs is back in the director’s chair: EW has confirmed that Barbra Streisand is set to direct Catherine the Great, a feature biopic about the 18th-century Russian empress.

Gil Netter will produce the historical film, which will be Streisand’s first dramatic directorial effort since 1996’s The Mirror Has Two Faces. Kristina Lauren Anderson wrote Catherine the Great’s script, which was at the top of 2014’s Black List of the best unproduced screenplays.

Streisand made her directorial debut with the 1983 musical drama Yentl, in which she also starred, and with which she became the first (and as of now, only) woman to receive the Golden Globe for Best Director.
