Wildlife photographer Nancy Rose made the Internet collectively coo in 2013 with her first picture book, The Secret Life of Squirrels, in which she photographed squirrels on handmade sets in her backyard. Now, she and her unwitting stars, Mr. Peanuts and Cousin Squirrel, are back with a holiday picture book, Merry Christmas, Squirrels! EW presents your exclusive reveal of the Merry Christmas, Squirrels! trailer above, where you can see the way Rose skillfully hides peanuts throughout the sets to get the squirrels to “act.”

See below for more detail on Rose’s process, from publisher Little, Brown:

She creates the sets, positions them on her deck, and watches through the glass door for the squirrels’ approach. Her campera is on a tripod by the door so that she can capture the squirrels in action. Amazingly, she does not manipulate the photographs digitally to position the squirrels in the scenes — she gets the squirrels to pose by hiding peanuts in and around the props.

Merry Christmas, Squirrels! is available in stores now.
